All number plates we supply from the 'Create your Own' section are previously un-issued numbers and come supplied on a DVLA retention certificate that can be transferred to your vehicle within 5 working days (conditions apply) or they can be kept on the retention certificate for a full 12 months from date of purchase. When choosing a DVLA prefix number or DVLA Current Style Number Plate you need to be aware that you are not allowed to make the vehicle appear newer than it actually is, i.e if you want to purchase an 07 number plate then the vehicle has to be an 07 registered vehicle or newer (example you would not able to put AB07 TTS onto a vehicle which is registered H953 CFP)
Any number plates ordered from the 'Create your own'  section cannot be refunded or exchanged once purchased.

The Cherished Numbers Dealers Association (CNDA) was established in 1971 to represent reputable and responsible dealers of personalised and attractive registration numbers and to protect the interests of their customers. CNDA is today affiliated to the Retail Motor Industry Federation whose various federated associations represent almost every sector of the retail motor industry. Members of the CNDA adhere to a strict code of conduct, and each member is regularly monitored by the Association to ensure that, for instance, members do not advertise registrations that they cannot be reasonably certain of supplying and that transfers are complete within an acceptable time limit. CNDA member dealers have a proven reputation and, in the unlikely event of a problem or dispute, help is close at hand from the CNDA.

Personalised Number Plates, when you are deciding on your private number plate the first thing to consider is which style you prefer. There are many options when deciding which type of private number plate you may wish to purchase. There are the current two options of DVLA number plates.

Prefix car registration numbers and the Current Style Car registration numbers. The prefix style was issued in 1983 and finished in 1999 and are number plates that have the dating letter at the start of the number plate followed by up to 3 numbers and then 3 initials (not I,O,Q,U or Z) examples of these are S5 NOW and W570 KES.

The Current style number plates have 2 letters at the start which indicates the area that they were issued then 2 numbers which indicate the year (started from 51 in September 2001 and the 02 in March 2002 and then run consecutively) and then 3 initials. Then there are the dateless DVLA personalised number plates which have no dating letter either prefixed or suffixed, examples of these are BTR 199 and 11 K these types of number plates date back to as far as 1903.
Suffix Car Registration Numbers have the dating letter at the end of the car registration plate and were first issued in 1963 and finished in 1983, examples of these are DEB 226V, WES 57T and NEW 574R.

Irish Car Registration Numbers have no dating letter but contain the letters I or Z and can be 2 or 3 letters followed by 1 to 4 numbers.
